WW1 Roll of Honour


The Roll of Honour
The men whose names appear on this Roll of Honour were members of the Royal Marine Artillery who were based at Eastney Barracks, now the Royal Marines Museum. Their names also appear in the full roll of honour which includes all the marines from Portsmouth, Chatham and Plymouth as well as Eastney. A copy is held in the Museum library. The full list of marines who lost their lives during or as a consequence of the First World War can be seen at Naval-History.net which lists all naval casualties.
 
The three boards were originally displayed in what is now known as the Mountbatten Room in the main museum but were removed in the 1930s. They may now be viewed by appointment only. The 13 panels can be seen in detail by following the links below.
