Some of the names that appear in the History of the School version of this panel only exist there and not on the actual plaque itself. These names are BELL, P., FURMAN, D. E., MAY, R. K., YOUNG, E. J. J. The brackets round some initials indicate that these appear in the book and not on the plaque.

Four of those named on the plaque are buried in Highland Road Cemetery. They are:-

COLES, Ronald Walter James, Leading Airman, HMS Condor, Son of Walter and Elizabeth Coles of Southsea
NORTON, Edward Albert, Pilot Officer, 90 Squadron RAF
OLIVER, Cyril Ward, 2nd Lieut. 508 Coast Regt., Royal Artillery
REFFLES, Albert William, Sergeant, 158 Squadron RAF Volunteer Reserve, son of Albert and Elizabeth Reffles of Southsea
